About Live Language

Live Language is a privately owned business and we specialise in teaching languages.  That's all we do here at the school.  We keep our class sizes small, so that you can learn at a faster pace and receive more personal attention.  All our teachers are native speakers and have at least one degree under their belts.  Your education is in good hands here!

2010/2011 Spanish Evening Course Dates

There are two Terms (Semesters) each year with Semester 1 running from October until Mid February and the Second Semester continuing from the middle of February until mid June (Monday classes will finish at the end of June to take into account any Bank Holidays).  Each Semester will be 15 weeks long and there will be 2 week breaks for Christmas and Easter respectively.

Alternatively, if you would like to condense your learning to a shorter time frame (yet still study for the same amount of hours) you can join our short immersion course that condenses your learning to just 8 weeks instead of 15 weeks.

(Monday classes finish on the 4th of July)

Start Learning Spanish Short Immersion Course (A1i)

8 week course Min 6 Max 12 students 3 hours per week
Group tuition

This is a course that lasts for ½ a semester (8 weeks) acquire an elementary knowledge of Spanish. 

This course is suitable for both adults and young people (minimum age is 16 years).

Learners who pass this class have reached a language level of A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: indicating their ability to use Spanish at an elementary level.

On passing this course you will be able to

  • Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases.
  • Introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details.
  • Interact in a simple way with native Spanish speakers.

This course is suitable for both adults and young people (minimum age is 16 years).

Learners who pass this class have reached a language level of A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, indicating their ability to use Spanish at a post-elementary level.

On passing this course you will be able to;

  • Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

This is a year long (30 week) course, split into two 15 week semesters; (B1i and B1ii) and is designed to follow on from level A2 to acquire an intermediate knowledge of Spanish. 

Coursebook:  Nuevo Ele Intermedio by Virgilio Borobio & Ramon Palencia

This text will be available from the school at the start of the course.

This course is suitable for both adults and young people (minimum age 16 years).

Learners who pass this class have reached a language level of B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, indicating their ability to use Spanish at an intermediate level.

 On passing this course you will be able to:

  • Deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Enter unprepared into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events).
  • Connect phrases in a simple way in order to describe experiences and events,  dreams, hopes and ambitions.
  • Give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
  • Narrate a story or relate the plot of a book or film and describe reactions.

Tailor-made 1:1 or 2:1 tuition 15, 20 or 30 hour courses
Flexible lessons

A Private Lesson or Semi-Private Lesson (2 students, one teacher) allows the student greater flexibility in learning, and can focus more specific areas of interest. Private students will see a faster rate of progress than group students. Teachers will give students a needs analysis at the beginning of their course to pinpoint problem areas and will plan a schedule to suit the needs and interests of the student. Available year round from 9am - 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.
