Glasgow Life

Live Language want you to settle in and enjoy your time in Glasgow as much as possible.

Glasgow is a great city for students, and Live Language is here to help you as much as possible, in establishing your new life in the city. The links to the right provide general information about how to make the most of your time in Glasgow, whether you are in the city for one week or one year.

The school can provide information and documentation to help you register with the authorities and open a bank account. We can also provide confirmation of your student status if you would like a student card, or to apply for council tax exemption. The reception staff can also give you information and advice about your general day to day needs, such as looking for accommodation, or where to find a job. You can also speak to the staff and teachers about travelling around Scotland, and what to do in Glasgow in the evenings or weekends.

Live Language has a dedicated Academic Support Tutor, who can provide advice if you want to apply for a job, or a college or university in the UK. We can help with job applications, CVs and help with university applications.

If you would like to practice your language skills while in Glasgow, while helping the community, then please see the Globaliveation page on the right. The scheme offers students a chance to use their language outside of the school, while becoming involved in volunteer work or helping with a local community group of charity. We also organise language exchange, between students learning English, and native English speakers.

Finally, one thing you must do while studying with Live Language is take part in the social programme. We have at least one social event each week and it is the best way to practice your English and meet other students and make friends. Its great for exploring Glasgow and Scotland and getting advice from other students about their time in Glasgow. Please see the links to the right, or speak to our reception staff about the programme.
